Abstract

This is a type-scene plan for Homer and the oral tradition of Ancient Greece. A type-scene "may be regarded as a recurrent block of narrative with an identifiable structure, such as a sacrifice, the reception of a guest, the launching and beaching of a ship, the donning of armor." (1.1.1).
