Abstract

This doctoral capstone project delves into the multifaceted landscape of teaching and education, focusing on strategies to empower incoming first year occupational therapy students and optimize learning outcomes through evidence-based teaching practices and activities. Drawing upon qualitative research methods, including interviews, surveys, and classroom observations, this project identifies student perspectives on groupiness activities and benefit to learning and cohort dynamics. This capstone project aims to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to foster inclusive, student-centered learning environments that prepare learners for success in an increasingly interconnected and dynamic world.
