Abstract

"Boys' and Girls' 4-H Club work in Missouri is conducted by the Extension Service of the University of Missouri College of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture in cooperation with counties, local communities and schools of the state. The main objectives of 4-H club work are stated by Dr. C. B. Smith, Chief Cooperative Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, as follows: 1. To do something worth while and to stimulate interest in community progress, 2. To improve farm and home practices, 3. To teach pride in occupation, 4. To give training in agriculture and home economics, 5. To develop appreciation of nature, 6. To teach cooperation, 7. To develop rural leadership, 8. To give vision, 9.
