Abstract
A rise in principal turnover has become a prevalent concern for schools in recent years. Many school districts in Missouri are concerned with the decline of qualified applicants in the hiring pool for these vacant principal positions. Some school districts are taking matters into their own hands and working to provide learning opportunities for their staff of aspiring principals. This research study gathered qualitative data from participants of an individual school district's aspiring principal preparation program. Findings show that these programs are beneficial to their participants to best prepare aspiring principals for the job they attain. The implications of this study could benefit school districts looking to start an aspiring leader program or a district looking to refine their practices in their current program.
