Newly graduated nurses (graduate nurse/registered nurses within their first year) are going into critical care settings with little to no additional education on how to care for these patients. As a result, new graduate nurse retention rates are negatively impacted, leading to increased cost to institutions (Blackmon,et al., 2023).
