Abstract
"Farmers are now growing soybeans on approximately one half of Missouri's harvested cropland--5,930,000 acres in 1979. Farmers have shown that they recognize the importance of soybeans not only by planting more acres but also by adopting production practices that resulted in state average yields of 32.0, 28.5, and 32.0 bushels per acre in the years 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively. These yields compare with averages of 25.2 bushels per acre in the period 1967-69 and 23.2 bushels per acre in the period 1957-59."--First page.
