Abstract

Introduction: Motor vehicle accidents are the 10th leading cause of death in Missouri (MDHSS). It ranks alongside unintentional accidents as the 4th leading cause of death in the United States (CDC, 2023). The search terms via google search engine "international student motor vehicle accident in the United States" revealed about 86 results for international students' involvement in road accidents from January 2018 to July 2023. 70% of these accidents were fatal or led to a lifetime disability. Mizzou 2, a student organization at the University of Missouri started driving lessons for international students in 2022, with the aim of achieving a 10% reduction by 2030 (Oduolowu, 2023).
