Abstract
Drone Journalism, Trying to Fly in a Legal Landscape Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles, are becoming more prevalent in our society and provide opportunities for newsgathering. Visual journalists may especially benefit from the flexibility and different viewpoints offered by utilizing a drone. However, journalists should understand the federal regulations surrounding drone use, as well as other laws that may impact a drone operator. Understanding the legal landscape surrounding the use of drones will provide journalists with a safe space to fly, in terms of limiting potential legal ramifications. Missouri's Place in Saddlebred History Missouri played an important role in the development of the American Saddlebred horse and the industry surrounding the breed. Several famous trainers and breeders lived and worked in mid-Missouri, including Tom Bass. Bass was born a slave, but became a world famous horse trainer in his own right, developing the Bass bit, which is still used worldwide today. Missouri is an important part of Saddlebred history and is still home to people who have dedicated their lives to this breed of horse.
