"For many young people this is an important time-when you decide whether to attend college and, if so, which one to attend. This publication contains information about UMC to help you make that decision. The primary purpose of higher education is to provide an environment that will enable you to grow intellectually and socially and develop the capacity for self-fulfillment. You will find that this kind of environment is present at Mizzou. You also will find it to be a quality institution, diverse enough to provide almost any academic field of study you desire. Since it is the largest campus in Missouri and a primary research institution serving the state, many of our faculty members have national reputations for excellence. This fact has a positive impact on the students and the educational programs.
