Abstract

"Since most of us have educational backgrounds associated with class instruction, the independent study courses listed in this catalog present a new challenge and opportunity for anyone wishing to further their education. The individualized nature of these courses provides unique advantages in scheduling, starting, and pacing your studies based on your individual situation. At the same time, the independent study method requires that students be self-motivated, self-starters, and strongly committed to continuing their education. Whatever your reasons for enrolling in Center for Independent Study courses, we wish you well as you pursue your educational goals. Motivation, concentration, persistence, and good study habits will aid you in successfully completing the course work. Please contact us if we can assist you in choosing a specific course or in answering questions about our curriculum and enrollment procedures."--Page [2].
