Abstract
"Dorothy and Bill's youngest child, Sue is in college. Today Dorothy looked in the mailbox and there was no letter from Sue. Dorothy thought, "No letter again today. I am not needed anymore. My husband doesn't have time for me either. I don't mean anything to anyone. I can even do anything...my life is not important. Really, life has no meaning for me. Life is just not worth it." Dorothy's self-defeating thoughts are those of a depressed person."--First paragraph.
