Abstract

"Tonight's concert is the first of four events in a week-long final flourish of the 1982-1983 Concert Series season. On Monday evening, April 18, the twenty-member Vancouver Chamber Choir will present a program of madrigals and part-songs entitled "Songs of Nature." The following night, April 19, the Ohio Ballet, an up-and-coming ensemble in the American dance world, will offer a concert of ballet pieces set to the music of Bach, Mendelssohn, and Tchaikovsky. Both events will take place in Jesse Auditorium at 8:00 p.m.; tickets are available. Finally, on Thursday, April 21, violinist Peter Winograd and pianist Stephen Lazarus will present a free recital in the Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Building at 8:00 p.m. A recent winner of the Annual Aspen Music School Competition, Winograd will perform works by Mozart, Schumann, Brahms, Franck, and Kreisler. Plan to spend a spring evening or two with the "lively arts" at UMC!"--page 4.
