Abstract

"People in Missouri regularly face emergencies of many types. Fires, ice storms, floods, and tornadoes can kill or injure people who are not prepared. Any community, family or individual may be a target. An essential defense in any emergency situation is a well-informed population, possessing the information needed to make intelligent decisions. In all disasters, people are under great stress. These experiences may cause them to act quite differently from their usual behavior. If we plan for an emergency before it occurs, our chances of being alive after the emergency will be greatly increased."--Page 1.
