Abstract
"Clothing, an essential element in most cultures, developed as a response to man's needs and to the setting in which he lives. Clothing needs for humans vary with individuals. In comparing people, differences are found in anatomical structures, nervous systems, cultural heritages, and background experiences. The activities within the home, members of the family, and the relationships between them develop attitudes or values that influence the manner in which needs are satisfied."--First paragraph.
