Abstract
"The continuing search for a labor-saving method of hay harvest led to the development of the large round baler. At this time, there are 13 manufacturers selling 23 balers of three different types that produce large round bales of 850 to 1,900 pounds in size. These bales appeal to cow-calf farmers since they resist weather damage and can be stored outside, thus reducing labor requirements."--First page.
