Abstract

This doctoral capstone project explores the potential of intergenerational programming to bridge generational gaps, reduce negative stigmas, and enhance the quality of life for seniors. The project involved a six0week intergenerational program at Lake George Senior Living Facility, where residents engaged in meaningful activities with young girl scouts. Pre, mid and post program surveys assessed changes in perceptions, quality of life and the effectiveness of the program. The findings suggest that intergenerational programming not only reduces negative stereotypes but also fosters friendship and sense of community.
