Abstract

"This study purports to determine the effects of elaborative-type questions on students' comprehension and critical reading ability. To achieve this purpose, students were assigned questions to be answered as they read material in their social studies texts. These students were then tested on their knowledge of facts from the content read, their ability to analyze and evaluate that content, and their critical reading ability."--Statement of the problem.
