"The handsome Greek vase in the collection of the Museum of the University of Missouri has already been noticed in a major publication by J. V. Noble, but he cites only a minor blemish -- the misfiring of parts of its black glaze. It is only fair that the score be rectified by a more comprehensive study to bring out both the high interest of the subject matter of its painting and its intrinsic beauty."--First paragraph.
