Abstract
In early 2024, Jefferson City Goldschmidt Surgery Center Endoscopy (JC GSC Endo) operated below capacity. Staffing was unstable, with six of eight RN roles filled by agency nurses, only two schedulers, and limited procedural flexibility. Although patient demand was increasing, bottlenecks in scheduling and inefficient staffing structures capped the unit's performance. The unit completed 354 cases in January 2024-below monthly budget expectations and far under capacity despite a growing referral backlog (Qayed et al., 2023).
