Abstract
"Patients falling in hospitals in the United States extends the inpatient stay by an average of 6.3 days (Ribeiro et al., 2018). One patient falling cost an average of $62,521 per fall with 36,776 of direct hospital cost, up from $13,806 in 2011. Falls with injury and falls without injury have negligible cost differentiation. (Callis, 2016; Dykes et al., 2023). Falls is a quality indicator reported to regulatory agencies."--Introduction.
