Abstract
T cells develop in the thymus; however, it is has been shown that non-T cells such as NK cells and dendritic cells also develop in the thymus. As such, the question arises, are these non-T cells developing from a common or lineage-specific progenitor population. Recently, it has been shown that macrophages and granulocytes can also develop from early thymic progenitors (ETPs).
