Abstract
"Seatbelt usage is a major problem in Missouri since it is one of the few states without a primary seat belt law. Nationally 86 percent of people wear seatbelts, while only 79 percent in Missouri use safety belts. In 2014, 766 fatalities related to crashes were reported in Missouri and 62 percent of those occupants killed were not restrained during the crash. 2015 has seen no improvement in casualty data and a projection of 825 motor vehicle fatalities is anticipated by the years end. It is imperative that seatbelt use is taken seriously across Missouri, starting at the University of Missouri Health Care. The goal of this project is to increase awareness about the importance of seatbelt use, and decrease in non restrained crash fatalities."--Background.
