Abstract

"Programs in clothing should meet the needs of all persons involved, just as articles of clothing do. In recognition of this need, a study of the textiles and clothing situation in the Delta area was initiated by the Extension Division of the University of Missouri. The purpose of this development effort for textiles and clothing programs was to make available to the people of the Delta the information needed and desired to get maximum satisfaction from clothing selection, use, and care. Team efforts of the community leaders and the Extension Division have made a significant contribution by conducting a study of the needs in textiles and clothing information. This study shows the general situation in the Delta at present, suggests what the goals and objectives of the people relative to textiles and clothing information should be in five years, and how to close the gap between where the people are now and where they desire to be five years from now."--Foreword.
