Abstract

"We aim to decrease the number of discrepancies in scheduling and re-scheduling Urology Procedures in Surgery Clinic. The process begins with scheduling a urology procedure and ends when the patient arrives for the scheduled appointment. By working on this process we expect to decrease patient wait times in clinic and to schedule a procedure. We also expect to increase room utilization. We will implement the use of a Resource Room for scheduling Urology Procedures in IDX. This will make the scheduling process more efficient and eliminate the need to schedule in two locations in IDX. This process will eliminate overbooking and underutilization because if a patient schedules or re-schedules a provider appointment it automatically schedules or cancels the appointment in the resource room."--Aim statement.
