Abstract

Script training has been effective in teaching various play skills to children with autism. The current study taught thematic scenarios using script training to three children with autism. All three participants' scripted and unscripted-related vocalization length increased following the introduction of scripts, as well as increased independent play actions and script following. The results indicate that script training may successfully promote sociodramatic play in children with autism.
