Abstract

Introduction: Early childhood power mobility encompasses a large community of healthcare professionals, individuals with mobility impairments, and future researchers. Given the diverse population this community serves, there are continuous gaps in research to continue to grow with the everchanging technology. Due to the constant demand this community presents, educational platforms such as GoBabyGo (GBG) Connect serve as resources for practitioners and the individuals with mobility deficits. These platforms require consistent upkeep to ensure consistency with technological advances meet the user's needs. Objectives: Website redesign on an existing platform into a more efficient and user-friendly website for all early childhood power mobility community members to use. The website redesign contributes to research that will benefit therapists, health care professionals, families, and individuals that experience mobility deficits. Making GBG Connect a platform that brings the community of early childhood power mobility together to further educate individuals about GoBabyGo. Methods: A mixed methods design featuring qualitative and quantitative data was utilized with pre and post surveys, voluntary zoom sessions, current literature regarding website engagement and statistics pulled from GBG Connect. Results/Findings: The user studies and research conducted highlighted the need for an updated website design that encompasses all user needs and opportunities for future development. Many changes to the website were implemented by using real user feedback for increased usability and user satisfaction. Conclusion: The development and maintenance of websites that serve a significant community like this one, has high standards to meet which requires increased research and quality improvement (QI) projects to take place.
