Abstract
This capstone project aimed to decrease challenges experienced by occupational therapy practitioners when providing feeding interventions and evaluations to children. Through the development of a comprehensive feeding therapy toolkit the challenges were addressed with various evidence-based resources. The doctoral capstone experience was conducted over a span of 14-weeks with CORAKids located in Southwest Virginia. The primary objective of the capstone project was to improve occupational therapy practitioners' performance and satisfaction with feeding therapy following the implantation of an all-encompassing feeding toolkit. A pre-survey was developed to gain an understanding to the OTPs performance and satisfaction with feeding therapy and to gain insights into toolkit features each therapist would find beneficial to their practice. After implementation and utilization of the toolkit the practitioners were then surveyed, indicating changes in both performance and satisfaction. Results from this capstone project indicated occupational therapy practitioners benefited from the implementation of the feeding therapy toolkit as evidenced by increased level of self-perceived performance and satisfaction in feeding therapy.
