Abstract

Two contemporary documentary photographers based in the US were interviewed and asked about their approach to doing photo stories in foreign countries. They were questioned on various things that affect a story such as research, access, and logistics. Most importantly, how they avoided perpetuating stereotypes when doing stories on foreigners? The findings could help guide young photojournalists to photograph foreigners or minorities in an impartial way.
