Abstract
Data and backgrounds are presented on the influence of ambient temperatures 50 degrees to 100 degrees F on the composition of blood (constituents listed in Section II of the Table of Contents) of six heavily lactating Jersey cows, four heavily lactating Holstein cows, and two non-lactating, non-gestating, Holstein cows. The most dramatic changes in blood composition occurred in creatinine (rise with increasing temperature) and cholesterol (decline with increasing temperature). Other blood constituents showed minor trends. There is considerable individuality in the blood pictures of the cows.
