Abstract
This master’s thesis is a speculative young adult novel that explores what you are willing to risk for success, for your tribe. I wrote Experiments to explore the lines between science and supernatural. To see how far one might go to live up to the expectations of others. To ask ethical questions because younger readers deserve to be challenged with complex topics. This novel is to be a place for the burnt out gifted kids to find solace. For individuals with tense family ties, the outsiders, the ones that never think they’re good enough, the ones that are tired, to feel at home, to feel seen, within these pages.
