Abstract

"Blue mold is a disease of tobacco caused by a fungus. The first reported incidents of the disease were in the Georgia-Florida area in 1921. According to reports, the disease caused only slight damage and was not observed again until 1931 when it appeared not only in Georgia but also in North and South Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia. Later, it appeared in other states and areas."--First page.
