Abstract

"When rabies is mentioned, most of envision a 'mad dog' racing through the streets, foaming at the mouth and attacking everything that moves. While myths and legends have made rabies a well-known disease, rabies is relatively uncommon in man and domestic animals. The 'mad dog' myth is often more dramatic than true. We will present in this guide a less dramatic, more factual picture of rabies, and we will explain how to prevent exposures and what to do in case an exposure or possible exposure does occur."--First page.
