Abstract
This thesis explores the portrayal of Black women on Zeus Network's Joseline's Cabaret: Season Two, analyzing how unregulated digital media platforms contribute to objectification and harmful stereotypes. Using objectification theory and a quantitative content analysis of 12 episodes, the study examines explicit sexual behavior, selfobjectifying language, external objectification, and power dynamics. Results from a Friedman test revealed that self-objectifying language and external objectification appeared most frequently, highlighting the normalization of internalized and external objectification in digital media. These findings underscore the need for critical media literacy and greater oversight in streaming content that disproportionately exploits marginalized identities.
