Abstract

This case study of a pseudonymous university in the Midwestern United States examines risk and protective factors for experiencing gender-based violence among a specific student population: female graduate students from India studying in the U.S. Utilizing an intersectional lens within a social ecological model, this research aims to contribute to the nascent literature regarding the unique positionalities of international graduate students and their risk for, or protection from, experiencing gender-based violence while studying abroad in the United States.
