Does alcohol use increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Epidemiologic correlations appear to be U-shaped and dose-dependent. Consumption of greater-than or equal to 2 drinks per day (greater than or equal to 24 g alcohol per day) is associated with a decreased risk of diabetes, whereas higher doses are associated with a rising risk. The clinical value of this association is unclear.
