What is the best topical medication for otitis externa in a nondiabetic adult?

Treatment of otitis externa with topical ciprofloxacin 0.3%/dexamethasone 0.1% otic suspension results in a significantly higher cure rates and symptom improvement compared with polymyxin B/neomycin/ hydrocortisone (PNH). PNH is comparable to topical ciprofloxacin 0.2% alone. (SOR: C, extrapolated from RCTs of adults and children.)
