"Big winner": nuclear fear in the U.S. before and after 9/11 [videorecording]
Abstract
This lecture discussed the retrospective climate at the end of the twentieth century in which lessened fears of large scale death and destruction were the result of the end of the Cold War. An examination of Don DeLillo's novel Underworld exposes the existence of latent fears, which were revived after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2011.
