Denosumab and teriparatide are the most effective postmenopausal osteoporosis treatment options for women who cannot tolerate bisphosphonates (BPs). Teriparatide has not been studied in patients with a creatinine clearance <30 mL/min. However, teriparatide has US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for use in a broader spectrum of patients with osteoporosis.
