Is yearly chest x-ray screening helpful in reducing mortality for smokers?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Screening with an annual chest x-ray (CXR) does not reduce mortality in smokers. (SOR: A, based on a meta-analysis of RCTs.) Screening high-risk smokers or former smokers with low-dose CT reduces mortality due to lung cancer when compared with CXR, although the number needed to screen is large. (SOR: B, based on a single RCT.)
