Compression is the most effective therapy for the treatment of venous ulcers; multicomponent compression containing elastic is more effective than single-component compression. Pentoxifylline appears to be effective when used with ompression or for cases in which compression cannot be used (SOR: A, systematic reviews of RCTs).
