The purpose of the work on which this paper is based has been to study the effects of some of the bromide salts upon the isolated heart of a frog as revealed by substituting the bromides of potassium, sodium, and calcium in a Ringer's solution. These experiments on the heart have been supplemented by a study of the histological changes which occur in the Purkinje cells of the cerebellum of the cat after prolonged bromide feeding.eng
