A study of trunk injuries and diseases of apple trees
Abstract
Owing to the prevalence of canker diseases in Missouri apple orchards, and the untold damage which they are causing, the growers are asking for information that will enable them to combat these diseases successfully. It was with the idea of obtaining additional information concerning these diseases, that this investigation was undertaken. Some of this investigation has necessarily been a repetition of previous work in other sections of the country. This has seemed necessary in order to corroborate previous investigations and to determine the behavior of these diseases under Missouri conditions. Several new points have been established, however, and are here reported for the first time.
