What is the best therapy for Kaposi's sarcoma in patients with AIDS?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Recently, topical alitretinoin was found to be an effective treatment for Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) in patients with HIV who are taking highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) (SOR: A, systematic review). However, HAART alone, local radiotherapy, and liposomal anthracycline therapy are still recommended for early-stage KS; while HAART combined with liposomal anthracyclines is recommended for advancedstage KS or HAART with paclitaxel for anthracycline-refractory KS (SOR: B, evidence-based guideline of noncontrolled studies).
