Abstract: The list of people waiting for organ transplants continues to grow. According to the Missouri Hospital Association more than 80,000 men, women and children nationwide are waiting for new organs, including more than 1,800 Missourians. Because of the organ shortage, an average of 13 people die nation wide each day while waiting for transplants.
