This presentation looks at the Federal Geographic Data Committee's Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata Version 2 (CSDGM), which is an update from from the previous version and was approved in 1998. It also looks ahead to metadata standards being developed by ISO (International Organization for Standardization). This will replace CSDGM once it is approved, as the Office of Management and Budget directs preference to use of international standards if they exist. This presentation goes through the differences between the two standards, as well as both benefits and implementation issues of the ISO standards.eng
