Do hypoglycemic agents reduce mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes?
Metadata[+] Show full item record
Metformin, sulfonylureas, and insulin, used with a target glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) of 7% to 7.9%, reduce the overall mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes compared with diet therapy alone (SOR: B, RCTs). Although the exposure to insulin has a linear correlation to mortality (SOR: B, cohort study), cause and effect are not clear.
