Abstract: Testing for gonorrhea is recommended for a patient with genital chlamydia; also test for gonorrhea and chlamydia in their sexual partner because of the high prevalence of coinfection, particularly among younger patients (strength of recommendation [SOR]: C, based on expert opinion and observational studies). Testing for syphilis and HIV is also recommended for the patient and their partner (SOR: C, based on expert opinion).
