Common adverse effects occurring at the injection site of meningococcal vaccine (MCV) injection include redness, swelling, induration, and pain. Common systemic reactions include fever, headache, fatigue, malaise, arthralgias, chills, myalgias, nausea, and rash. There is no clear association between MCV and Guillain-Barré syndrome (SOR: A, systematic review of multiple RCTs).
