Rocky Mountain valleys of southern Colorado
Abstract
In this ethnographic report, the author examines cultural changes resulting from the subdivision of ranchland in the valley of Garden Park, Colorado with a particular focus on the shift from traditional "Old" West homesteaders and rancher culture to "New" West subdivision/exurban and amenity populations, and how this shift in populations over a span of decades has been affecting the dynamic of the region's people.
