Spacers are just as effective, if not superior to, nebulizers for asthma exacerbations

In adults, spacers are equivalent to nebulizers for delivery of beta-agonists for nonlife– threatening asthma exacerbations. For children, spacers have fewer adverse effects (tachycardia, tremor) and can expedite ED visits compared with nebulizers.
